Originally from Liverpool England, he brings 20 plus years of international project experience in food facility design. Paul is a Professional Member of FCSI and has diplomas in both architectural design and project management.

Paul creates food service designs that are functional for the operator and aesthetically pleasing for the clients and staff.  He then combines his project management expertise with architectural discipline as he works with Clients end-to-end; from concept development through final plans and documents to installation. 

Paul’s area of specialization is retail and kitchen food service designs for Hotels, Education, and Employee Dining sectors. 

Paul has provided innovative planning and design solutions for retail food service facilities at Windsor Regional Hospital (which received the FCSI Award for Excellence in Design in 2005), University of Western Ontario (which received an honorable mention for the FCSI Awards in 2001) and Northern Alberta Institute of Technology (which received the FCSI Award for Excellence in Design in 1999).

Other notable clients include Ritz Carlton Hotel in Toronto, Eaglestone Casino in Calgary, Hilton International Toronto, Ottawa Congress Centre, Toronto’s National Ballet School, University of Waterloo Ontario, ING Corporate Headquarters in Toronto and General Motors of Canada Limited.

Prior to joining our firm, Paul was based in South Africa provided consulting services to major hotel developers and chains.  Past clients have included Southern Sun Hotels and Resorts, Stocks Leisure, Holiday Inn and the Karos Hotel Group.  Services to these clients have ranged from the development of five star Hotels and Casinos to renovations of existing facilities including dining room buffet counters, bars and coffee lounges.

Paul continues to lead a number of our projects overseas.  Most recently Paul as provided design consulting services to Aga Khan University, Karachi, Pakistan, Al Maktoum Hospital, Jabel Ali, United Arab Emirates [300 Bed Hospital], Specialist Hospital, Ras Al Khaimah, Dubai, United Arab Emirates [400 Bed Hospital], Arzanah Medical Centre, Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates [70 Bed Specialist Hospital], Kuwait University and Medical Centre, Kuwait City, Kuwait, Saraya Aqaba Resort (Off Site Facilities), Aqaba, Jordan, Al Saleh Medical City, Sana’a Republic of Yemen. email Paul Cumpstey
