Ed Morano is the Managing Director at KAIZEN Foodservice Planning and Design Inc. and has been with the company since 1992. Ed combines his 20 years of food service consulting and operational experience with a Bachelor’s degree in Hospitality and Tourism Management and an M.B.A. from York University’s Schulich School of Business. Ed is also a Professional Member of the Foodservice Consultant Society International and Board Member of the American Association of Healthcare Consultants.
Edward is the Principal in Charge of all Management Advisory Services overseeing the development of business plans, strategic plans, master plans, feasibility studies, market assessments, functional programs, facility assessments and operator RFPs.
Edward has managed, directed or played instrumental roles in a number of award-winning and nationally recognized consulting efforts including strategic plans and designs for Northern Alberta Institute of Technology and Windsor Regional Hospital, strategic plan for the Winnipeg Regional Health Authority and design for the Ministry of Correctional Services. Each of these projects was granted the Food Service Consultant Society International Awards for Excellence in either Design or Management Advisory Services in 1998, 2005, 1999 and 2003 respectively.
Notable clients have included Cornell University, University of Illinois, Columbia University Teachers College, New York University Langone Medical Centre, Medical Centre of Louisiana in New Orleans, Children’s Hospital of Ireland, Hong Kong Hospital Authority, Vancouver Island Health Authority and the Alberta Solicitor General and Public Security Correctional Service Division.
